 AutisMania: From Diagnosis to Independence

The Story Behind AutisMania

To understand AutisMania, you first need to understand my journey.

My name is Dahlia Soliman, and I have been dedicated to the field of special needs for as long as I can remember. At the age of 11, while babysitting a boy with Down syndrome, I discovered a calling that has shaped my entire life. From then on, as my family moved around the world with my father’s diplomatic career, I sought every opportunity to volunteer in schools and centers, learning from each child and family I met.

In 1996, I graduated and devoted myself fully to this work—particularly autism. At 24, I founded the Egyptian Autistic Society, and from that point forward, autism became not just my profession, but my mission. I have spent more than two decades fighting, advocating, and building services for individuals on the spectrum and their families. Many of the families I met in those early years are still with me today, and they feel like part of my own family.

This journey pushed me beyond psychology. I had to learn how to launch nationwide awareness campaigns, work with the media, engage in politics to advocate for families, and even navigate business and strategy. I served on committees within the Ministries of Education and Health, worked with the Ministry of Defense to secure military exemptions for young people with autism, and collaborated with the Presidency to expand services across Egypt.

Through it all, I became deeply connected with families, celebrities, politicians, and professionals. I built a network that now spans autism-friendly schools, universities, dentists, barbers, sports trainers, and countless others who make life easier for individuals on the spectrum.

But I also witnessed despair. I have seen the heartbreak families face when they first receive a diagnosis, and I have seen how hopelessness can break them apart. I knew something more was needed—something lasting.

Why AutisMania Was Born

This is precisely why AutisMania consultancy was formed. Parents often feel as though they’ve been pushed off a cliff after hearing the words “your child has autism.” Suddenly, questions overwhelm them:

What does this mean?

How will this affect our lives?

Will my child go to school—what kind, where, and with whom?

Will they ever speak? Marry? Be independent?

Who will look after them when I am gone?

Now what?

After 29 years of working with individuals on the spectrum, partnering with parents, and shaping services in collaboration with governments, I created AutisMania: the app and consultancy company.

AutisMania is your one stop. From diagnosis to independence, we take over from here. We connect families with the best places for diagnosis, guide them through assessments, and help choose the right placement—whether that’s a center, nursery, school, or a combination. We assist with finding therapists, shadow teachers, and managing government paperwork.

We are your partners. Your rescue boat. Your database. Your contact list. We are here for the panic attacks, the questions, and the fears. Most importantly, we are here with you, every step of the way.

AutisMania: From diagnosis to independence. Together.

After nearly three decades in the autism field, AutisMania brings its expertise to families through its consultancy company and app.

Sometimes we provide services directly through our centers. Other times, we connect you to trusted partners or members of our network. Either way, you no longer have to go through trial and error—we already did.

You don’t have to apply to schools alone—we guide you.

You don’t have to search endlessly for shadow teachers, therapists, or jobs—we find them.

Whatever your child needs, at every step of their journey—we make it happen.

Our database and connections cover everything:

Haircuts, blood tests, dentist appointments

Puberty-related sessions

Finding friends, setting up playdates, connecting families

Therapy for parents and siblings

Organizing trips, outings, and small-group activities

Sports, swimming, horse riding, singing, and art lessons

You name it—we’ve done it (believe me 😅). From potty training to job training, we are here by your side.

We listen to your needs, consider your budget, and plan and implement your child’s journey. We even extend our support to siblings and parents, because autism is a family journey.

That’s why we proudly say:

Everybody Needs a Buddy

One of our most exciting features is the “Everybody Needs a Buddy” program within the AutisMania app.

Through this feature, autistic individuals are matched with trained volunteers who become their buddies. These buddies aren’t therapists or teachers—they are friends. They meet up, go out together, and share experiences, giving autistic individuals the chance to build meaningful social connections outside therapy or school.

This is about friendship, fun, and inclusion. Whether it’s going for coffee, playing sports, visiting a museum, or just hanging out, Everybody Needs a Buddy ensures that no one walks through life feeling alone.

It’s simple:

Families and autistic individuals register on the app.

Volunteers sign up to become buddies.

The app facilitates safe, supported matches and ongoing connection.

Because everybody truly does need a buddy.
